Surah 78
Surah An-Naba': The Information
Revealed at Makkah
78:21
Surely Gehenna becomes a place of ambush—
78:22
a Home for the transgressors—
78:23
staying in it for ages.
78:24
They will not taste in it coolness nor drink;
78:25
except boiling water and intensely cold fluid,—
78:26
a requital corresponding.
78:27
Surely they did not fear the reckoning,
78:28
and they belied Our Messages with a belying.
78:29
And everything— We have recorded it in writing,
78:30
“Therefore you taste; because We shall not increase to you anything except in torment.”
78:31
Certainly for the reverent there is a triumph—
78:32
orchards and vineyards;
78:33
and youths of equal age,
78:34
and a cup filled up.
78:35
They will not hear in it any idle talk, nor any falsehood.
78:36
A reward from your Rabb, a gift calculated—
78:37
the Rabb of the heavens and the earth and what is between them— from the Rahman. They do not dare address Him.
78:38
The Day whereon the Spirit and the angels will stand in rows; they will not speak except he whom the Rahman permits, and who speaks rightly.
78:39
This is the Certain Day; therefore whoever pleases take recourse towards his Rabb.
78:40
Surely We have warned you of a punishment close by— the day whereon man will see what his two hands have sent forward,
and the Unbeliever will say: “Woe to me! would that I were dust!”
