Surah 82
Surah Al-Infitar: The Splitting Apart
Revealed at Makkah
With the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Rewarding
82:1
WHEN the sky is cleft asunder,
82:2
and when the planets are dispersed,
82:3
and when the rivers are made to flow;
82:4
and when the graves are laid open—
82:5
soul will know what it has sent forward, and it has left behind.
82:6
O you men! what has deceived you about your Rabb, the most Gracious,
82:7
Who has created you, then fashioned you, then gave you right proportion—
82:8
in whatever shape He pleased He shaped you?
82:9
No, you of course belie the Judgment.
82:10
And surely over you there are indeed guardians,
82:11
honored ones, recorders,
82:12
they know what you do.
82:13
Surely the virtuous will indeed be in a bliss,
82:14
and surely the wicked will of course be in the fierce Fire;
82:15
they will enter it on the day of Judgment.
82:16
And they will not be absent from there.
82:17
Ha! what will make you realize what the day of Judgment is?
82:18
Again, what will make you realize what the day of Judgment is?
82:19
The day whereon a soul will not have power to do anything for another soul. And the command on that day will belong to Allah.
