Surah Yunus: Yunus

Revealed at Makkah

10:61
And you are not in any venture, nor do you recite from Him of the Qur-an, neither do you do any deed, but We are Witness over you when you are engaged in it. And nothing remains hidden from your Rabb of the weight of an atom in the earth nor in the heaven, and there is nothing smaller than that nor greater, but the same is in a manifest Book.

10:62
Now surely for the friends of Allah,— there is no fear on them, nor will they grieve.

10:63
Those who believe and are practicing reverence—

10:64
for them are glad tidings in the life of this world and in the Hereafter. There is no altering in the words of Allah;— this is the supreme achievement.

10:65
And let not their utterances grieve you. Surely honor altogether belongs to Allah. He is all-Hearing, all-Knowing.

10:66
Is it not that whoever is in the heavens and whoever is in the earth belong to Allah indeed? And those who call upon associates besides Allah do not follow. They follow nothing but the fancies; and they do nothing but guessing.

10:67
He it is Who has made the night for you that you may rest in it, and the day giving sight. Certainly in this there are sure Signs for a people who listen.

10:68
They say: “Allah has taken a son.” Glory be to Him! He is Self-Sufficient. To Him belongs what is in the heavens and what is in the earth. There is no authority with you for this. Do you say against Allah what you do not know?

10:69
Say: “Surely those who forge a lie against Allah will not be made to prosper.”

10:70
There is enjoyment in this world, then towards Us is their return, then We shall cause them to taste severe chastisement, because they used to disbelieve.

10:71
And recite to them the narrative of Nuh. Remember, he said to his people: “O my people! if my staying and my reminding the Messages of Allah are hard on you, then upon Allah do I rely; so muster together your actions and your associates, then let not your action be cloudy to you, then have it executed against me, and do not give me respite.

10:72
“If then you turn back, then I do not ask you for a recompense. My recompense is indeed with none but Allah, and I have been commanded to be one of the Muslims.”

10:73
But they belied him, We then rescued him and those with him in the Ark, and We made them successors, and We drowned those who belied Our Messages. See then as to what was the end of those warned!

10:74
Then We raised up after him rasuls towards their peoples, so that they brought them clear proofs, but they were not going to believe in that which they had belied before. In this way We seal upon the hearts of the transgressors.

10:75
Then We raised up after them Musa and Harun towards Fir‘awn and his chiefs with Our Signs; but they displayed pride, and they were a guilty people.

10:76
So that when the Truth came to them from Our presence, they said: “It is certainly an obvious enchantment.”

10:77
Musa said: “What! do you say regarding the Truth when it has come to you? Is this an enchantment? But the enchanters are never made to prosper.”

10:78
They said: “Have you come to us to turn us away from that upon which we found our forefathers, and that the leadership in the land may be for you two? And we are not going to be believers in you two.”

10:79
And Fir‘awn said: “Bring to me every knowledgeable enchanter.”

10:80
So when the enchanters had come, Musa said to them: “Cast down what you have to cast.”
