Surah 87
Surah Al-A'la: The Most High
Revealed at Makkah

With the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Rewarding
87:1
GLORIFY the name of your Rabb, the most High,

87:2
Who creates, then He perfects;

87:3
and Who measures, and guides;

87:4
and Who brings forth herbage,

87:5
then renders it dried up, gray-colored.

87:6
We shall soon make you recite, so you will not forget—

87:7
except whatever Allah please. He indeed knows the manifest, and what is hidden.

87:8
And We shall ease for you with easing.

87:9
Therefore go on reminding; surely the Reminder brings benefit.

87:10
He will soon mind who fears,

87:11
but the evil-minded will avoid it,

87:12
who will undergo roasting in the great Fire.

87:13
And then he will not die in it, nor will he live.

87:14
He indeed succeeds who purifies himself,

87:15
and remembers the name of his Rabb, and performs Salat.

87:16
In fact, you prefer the life of this world,

87:17
while the Hereafter is better and more lasting.

87:18
Surely this is in the earlier Scrolls—

87:19
the Scrolls of Ibrahim and Musa.
