Surah 68
Surah Al- Al-Qalam: The Pen
Revealed at Makkah Madinah
68:21
Then they called up one another in the morning,
68:22
saying: “Go early to your field, if you are going to reap.”
68:23
So they departed while they were whispering together,
68:24
“Let no poor enter it today against you.”
68:25
So in the morning they went determined upon purpose.
68:26
But when they saw it, they said: “Surely we have gone astray.”
68:27
“Obviously, we are deprived.”
68:28
The worthiest of them said: “Did I not say to you— 'Why do you not glorify'?”
68:29
They said: “Glory be to our Rabb, surely we were unjust.”
68:30
Then some of them advanced upon the others reproaching one another.
68:31
They said: “O woe to us! we were surely immoderate.
68:32
“May be our Rabb will exchange for us something better than this; surely to our Rabb we are entreating.”
68:33
Such is the punishment. And surely the chastisement of the Hereafter is greater; did they but know!
68:34
Surely for the reverent there are Gardens of Delight with their Rabb.
68:35
Shall We then treat the Submitting ones as the guilty?
68:36
What is the matter with you? How do you judge?
68:37
Or is there a scripture for you from which you read,
68:38
that for you there is certainly whatever you choose?
68:39
Or is there for you covenants upon Us,— extending up to the day of the Awakening— that for you there will surely be whatever you judge?
68:40
You ask them as to which of them will vouch for that?
