Surah 91
Surah As-Shams: The Sun
Revealed at Makkah
With the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Rewarding
91:1
CONSIDER the Sun, and its advancing brightness,
91:2
and the Moon as she follows it,
91:3
and the Day when it reveals its brilliance,
91:4
and the Night when it draws a covering over it.
91:5
And the heaven and Who made it;
91:6
and the earth and Who expanded it;
91:7
and the Soul and Who perfected it;
91:8
and He inspired into it its wickedness and its piety.
91:9
He indeed prospers who purifies it;
91:10
and he certainly fails who corrupts it.
91:11
Thamud belied in their transgression,
91:12
when the vilest of them rose up,
91:13
then the rasul of Allah told them: “A she-camel of Allah, and let her drink.”
91:14
But they rejected him, and hamstrung her; so their Rabb let fall destruction upon them because of their sin, and He leveled them.
91:15
And He did not care its consequences.
