Surah 80
Surah 'Abasa: He Frowned
Revealed at Makkah
80:21
then He causes him to die, and He assigns to him an interment;
80:22
then when He pleases He will raise him up.
80:23
No, he has not done what He commanded him.
80:24
Therefore let man look at his food—
80:25
how We pour down the water a great pouring;
80:26
and then We split the earth a splitting,
80:27
so that We cause to grow in it grain,
80:28
and grapes and vegetations,
80:29
and olives and dates,
80:30
and gardens thickly planted,
80:31
and fruits and pasture,—
80:32
a provision for you and for your cattle.
80:33
Then when the terrible blast comes—
80:34
that Day man will flee from his brother,
80:35
and his mother and his father,
80:36
and his spouse and his children.
80:37
For every man of them that Day there will be enough concern to make him indifferent.
80:38
some faces that Day will be bright,
80:39
laughing, rejoicing.
80:40
And other faces that Day will have dust upon them;
80:41
darkness covering them.
80:42
These are themselves the Unbelievers, the wicked.
