Surah Al-Haqqah: The Sure Event

Revealed at Makkah


69:21
So he will be in a life well-pleased—


69:22
in a high-placed Garden,


69:23
the fruits of which are close at hand.


69:24
“You eat and drink joyfully for what you advanced in bygone days.”


69:25
And as to him whose book is delivered in his left hand, he will then say: “O my misfortune! that I had never been given my book,

“and I had never known what my account was!


69:27
“O would that it had made an end!


69:28
“My wealth does not avail me anything;


69:29
“my authority is perished from me.”


69:30
“Seize him and tie him up,


69:31
“then throw him into the fierce Fire,


69:32
“and then let him then pass through a chain the length of which is seventy cubits.


69:33
“Surely he was not given to believing in Allah, the Mighty,


69:34
“nor did he urge the feeding of the poor.


69:35
“There is therefore no warm friend for him here this day,


69:36
“nor food except from the washing—


69:37
“no one eats it except the sinful.”


69:38
But no! I swear by what you see,


69:39
and by what you do not see,


69:40
it is surely the word of an honorable Rasul,
