Surah 67
Surah Al-Mulk: The Sovereignty
Revealed at Makkah
With the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Rewarding
67:1
BLESSED is He in Whose hand is the Sovereignty, and He is Possessor of power over all things,
67:2
Who created Death and Life that He may test you— which of you is the best in deeds? And He is the Exalted in Might, the Forgiving,
67:3
Who has created the seven heavens one above another. You cannot see in the creation of the Rahman any inconsistency. Then turn again the gaze. Do you see any crack?
67:4
And then turn again the search once more, the eyesight will return to you defeated, while it is fatigued.
67:5
And We have certainly adorned the nearest heaven with lamps, and We have made them conjectures for the Evil-ones, and We have prepared for them the chastisement of the burning Fire.
67:6
And for those who disbelieve in their Rabb, there is the chastisement of Gehenna. And it is a horrid journey!
67:7
When they are cast in it, they will hear it roaring, while it will boil,
67:8
almost bursting with fury. Every time a group is thrown into it, its guardians will ask them: “Did not a warner come to you?”
67:9
They will say: “Yes, a warner of course came to us, but we belied and said— 'Allah has not revealed anything; you are in nothing but a great straying'.”
67:10
And they will say: “Had we but listened or applied reason, we would not have been among the fellows of the burning Fire !”
67:11
Thus they will confess their sins; so “Begone!” for the fellows of the flame!
67:12
Surely as to those who fear their Rabb in secret, there is for them forgiveness and a great reward.
67:13
And whether you hide your saying or expose it. Surely He is Knower of what is inside the breasts.
67:14
Does He not know Who created? And He is the Knower of Subtleties, all-Aware.
67:15
He it is Who has made the earth calm for you, so that you walk in its ways; and you eat of its provision. And towards Him is the rising up.
67:16
What! do you feel secure from Him Who is overhead, lest He will cause the earth to swallow you up? Then lo! it will shake!
67:17
Or do you feel secure from Him Who is overhead, lest He will send against you a hurricane! Then soon you will know how was My warning!
67:18
And indeed those before them belied! then how was My reprobation!
67:19
What! do they not see the birds above them spreading out wings and folding in? They are held up by none except the Rahman? Surely He is Seer of all things.
67:20
Well, who is that can be an army for you that will help you besides the Rahman? The Unbelievers are in nothing but delusion.
